Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood
Do not Let Me Be Misunderstood is the title of a 1964 incurred blues songs, which was originally written by Nina Simone. The most famous version is that of the Animals as well as a disco version of Santa Esmeralda from 1977, a week long topped the German charts.
Original version
The title early in 1964 by Bennie Benjamin, Gloria Caldwell was composed ( born April 15, 1933) and Sol Marcus ( born October 1, 1912 † February 5, 1976 ). Nina Simone recorded the original in June 1964 in New York. It is accompanied by the orchestra Horace Ott, her producer was Harold " Hal " Mooney. The slow ballad was pressed on the single Do not Let Me Be Misunderstood / A Monster (Philips # 40232 ) and published in October 1964, without that she came into the charts. Santa Esmeralda left the song with an extensive intro in November 1977 to become a disco classics. The single received 48 gold medals and 42 times platinum and was eight weeks ( 21 November 1977 to 9 January 1978) No. 1 on the German charts; the accompanying album broke the former record of 15 million albums sold. Also in Austria, was the single from mid December 1977 for four weeks at the top of the charts. At the disco version of it appeared in 2003 on the soundtrack to the film Kill Bill. In addition, it was used as the opening theme song for the American game show Bullseye ( 1980-1982 ). In Germany, the rhythm section of the piece was specifically used by the end of the 1970s to the mid 1980s in the ARD sports show as a jingle and background music for the Goal of the Month.
