Donald Baechler

Donald Baechler ( born 1956 in Hartford, Connecticut) is an American artist.

Life and work

Donald Baechler studied 1974-1976 at the Maryland Institute, College of Art in Baltimore from 1977 to 1978 at the Cooper Union in New York City from 1978 to 1979 at the Academy of Fine Arts ( Städel school) in Frankfurt am Main. In 2004 he taught as a lecturer at the Salzburg Summer Academy. Baechler lives and works in New York City.

His sculptures and paintings are represented in numerous public and private collections, such as the Museum of Modern Art (New York), the Whitney Museum of American Art ( New York), the Guggenheim Museum (New York), the Museum of Contemporary Art ( Los Angeles ), the Stedelijk Museum ( Amsterdam), the Centre Georges Pompidou, Musée National d' Art Moderne (Paris).
