Donald Hewlett

Donald Hewlett ( born August 30, 1920 in Northenden, Manchester, † June 4, 2011 in London) was a British actor.

Life

Donald Hewlett served during the Second World War on Orkney. He is a founding member of the Kirk Well Arts Club. Hewlett's acting work took place in television series mainly. His career began in 1954 when he was in the film Orders are orders mimed Lincoln Green. He achieved fame in the UK for his role as Colonel Charles Reynolds in the 1970s sitcom It Is not Half Hot Mum. He played in the late 1980s Lord George Meldrum in the Perry - Croft sitcom You Rang, M'Lord? . He also appeared in the short-lived sitcom The Adventures of Brigadier Wellington - Bull and Come Back Mrs Noah.

Donald Hewlett is the father of the 1983 -born actress Siobhan Hewlett.
