Donna Hartley

Donna -Marie Louise Hartley, born Donna Murray, later Donna Hartley - Wass, ( born May 1, 1955 in Southampton, † June 7, 2013 in Yorkshire ) was a British athlete.

About 200 m sprinter reached the semifinals at the 1972 Olympics in Munich. In 1976, she was at the Olympics in Montreal in the 400m quarter-finals, finishing with the British team in the 4 x 400 - meter relay team to seventh place.

In 1978 she won starting for England at the Commonwealth Games in Edmonton in both the 400m and in the 4 x 400 - meter relay. For shortly afterwards held European Athletics Championships in Prague followed by a sixth place in the 400m and a fourth place in the relay.

At the Olympic Games in 1980 it belonged to the British quartet that won the bronze medal in the 4 x 400 - meter relay.

In 1977 she married her colleagues Sprinter Bill Hartley, the couple separated after only a short time. In 1987 she married actor Robert Wass, better known by his stage name Bobby Red Knot, and began under the name Donna Hartley - Wass a career as a bodybuilder. In 1979 she was admitted as a Member in the Order of the British Empire.
