Doogie Howser, M.D.

Doogie Howser, MD, is an American television series that was produced from 1989 to 1993 for the ABC. In Germany, the series was seen from 1991 on ProSieben. The show is about a boy who practices the age of 16 as a doctor (MD) and at the same time going through his puberty. The series was inspired by the story of Howard A. Sugar, who has already practiced with 22 years as a doctor.

The highly talented Douglas " Doogie " Howser ( Neil Patrick Harris ) is a child prodigy. He completed - thanks to his photographic memory - with nine years of high school, graduated from Princeton University at age 10 and completed his medical degree four years later. At 14 he became the youngest doctor in the country.
