Dora is a town in Roosevelt County in the U.S. state of New Mexico in the United States with 130 inhabitants (as of 2000).

Geography

The town is located just east of the geographic center of the county in the extreme east of New Mexico, approximately 15 km away from Texas and has a total area of 7.3 km ² without significant water surface.

Demographic data

According to the census of 2000, there were 130 people in 43 households, and 36 families. The population density was 17.8 inhabitants per km ². The racial the population was composed of 86.15 % White, 2.31 ​​% Native American, 11.54 % from other ethnic groups.

Of the 43 households out of which 53.50 % have children under the age of 18 living with them. 74.40 % were married couples living together, 9.30% had a female householder with no husband, and 14.00% were non-families, 14.00 % of all households are made up and in 7.00% had someone living alone at the age of 65 years or older. The average household size was 3.02 and the average family size was 3.35 persons.
