Dora Pavel

Dora Pavel ( born June 29, 1946 in Deva ) is a Romanian writer.

Life

She studied Romanian philology at the Babeş -Bolyai University of Cluj. Dora Pavel lives in Cluj- Napoca, where she works as a journalist and editor for a local radio station. She is currently working on her fourth novel. In 1984 she made her debut with the poetry collection Ante Scriptum followed by several volumes of poetry. Fifteen years later, her first book of prose Întoarce th Esthera appeared ( " Esther, come back " ) The literary breakthrough came with the novel Agata murind ( " Agata dies " ), which is published by Dacia 2003. The novel was awarded the Prize of the Writers' Union, the most important literary award of Romania, was positively received and learned so far two editions ( publisher Dacia, 2003; Polirom Publishing, 2004). In 2006 was published by Polirom her third novel, under the title Captivul ( " The Prisoner ").
