Dorothea Macheiner

Dorothea Macheiner ( born March 21, 1943 as Dorothea Hummel Brunner in Linz ) is an Austrian writer.

Life

Dorothea Macheiner grew up in Steinbach am Attersee. After studying theology and German, from which she graduated with the degree of Master of Theology, she made ​​numerous trips in the Mediterranean and held a long time in Sardinia and Tunisia. In 1979 she took part in Klagenfurt at the Ingeborg Bachmann Competition. Today she works as a freelance writer in Salzburg and Vienna.

Dorothea Macheiner is the author of novels, essays, poems, plays and radio plays.

Dorothea Macheiner is a member of Graz Writers meeting, the Austrian PEN Clubs, the Austrian Writers' Association ( Austrians ) and IG authors authors.
