Dorothy Duffy

Dorothy Duffy (* in Douglas Bridge, Northern Ireland ) is a Northern Irish actress.

Life and career

Dorothy Duffy was born in the Northern Irish village in Douglas Bridge belonging to the United Kingdom, County Tyrone. She spent her childhood but in Edeninfagh near Glenties in neighboring County Donegal, part of the Republic of Ireland. She received her acting training in 2000 at a summer course at the Central School of Speech and Drama. Later she attended in Paris, the International Institute Performing Arts in London and the RADA & The Actors Centre. Her film debut was Dorothy Duffy 1997 in the Irish film Ostan nos Croithe Bhriste. International acquaintance she obtained in 2002 in her role as Rose / Patricia in the British- Irish film drama The Magdalene Sisters, which addresses the shortcomings in the run by the Catholic Church Magdalene homes. As a stage actress Dorothy Duffy has engagements in London's West End theater district. She starred in various episodes of some well known in German-speaking television series such as medical examiner Dr. Samantha Ryan.

Dorothy Duffy speaks her native language English nor fluent Irish and French as standard.
