Dorothy Metcalf-Lindenburger

Dorothy Marie " Dottie " Metcalf - Linde Burger ( born 2 May 1975 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States) is an American astronaut. As a teacher, she was selected as part of the Educator Astronaut Project.

Life

Metcalf Linde Burger in 1997 received a bachelor's degree in geology from Whitman College in Washington. At the time of selection, she was a teacher of geography, astronomy, and cross-country skiing at the Hudson 's Bay High School in Vancouver, Washington.

Astronauts activity

STS -131

On 5 December 2008 Metcalf Linde Burger was named as a mission specialist on STS- 131. The launch took place on April 5, 2010, the landing on April 20, 2010.

Other NASA activities

In June 2012, she led the " Aquarius" Habitats of the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric NASA mission, " NASA Extreme Environment Mission Operations " ( NEEMO ) to explore the possibility of space mission to an asteroid.

Private

Metcalf Linde Burger is married, the couple has a child. In her spare time, she has completed several marathons. She is also a singer in the astronaut rock band Max Q.
