Max Q (astronaut band)

Max Q is a rock band from Houston, Texas, whose members are all active NASA astronauts.

The band was founded in 1987 by Robert Gibson, George Nelson and Brewster Shaw. The name of Max Q is a technical term from the aerospace industry, which indicates the point of maximum load at startup. According to Gibson, the band do like the Space Shuttle " a lot of noise and little music."

So far there are no official releases of the band, as the smaller parties, weddings and charity events occurs predominantly in festivities of NASA centers and at events in the NASA environment.

The members of the band is constantly changing, as it consists only of active astronauts.
