The children's film In a twin is a British coming-of- age film from the year 2002.
Action
The ten year-old twin sisters, Garnet and Ruby live with her father and grandmother. Her mother died many years ago. With this situation, the twin sisters have well arranged.
But her father is unemployed. In addition, he has also met Rose. Unemployment wants to use her father for a fresh start. His dream is a small bookstore in the country. So the family is moving. Of Garnet and Ruby are now not enthusiastic. But their protest is useless, and the family moves to the country, while the grandmother goes into a retirement home. But the Twins do not want to give up without a fight. You want Rose to drive out of the house and move back into their old apartment. Their motto is "We are absolutely identical ." And they are also trying to work together to achieve these goals.
But Rose soon has no problem in identifying the twin sisters. Because they see externally, although the same, but they have very different characters. Garnet is the somewhat shy, while Ruby is very tomboyish. And so it is also Garnet, who is looking as a first contact to her new mother Rose. However, it is thereby retained by Ruby, Garnet as always yields and finally but does what Ruby wants. After all, they 're twins and identical.
And so the two stick together in their new environment. For example, there is a boy band with which they create themselves and always emerge victorious. Encouraged by this success, they decide to behave badly in school. If they fly out of school, so her idea, her father has to go with them. Although they get by anger, but her plan does not go on.
Ruby discovers in the newspaper ad. We are looking for a movie twins. Acting has always been her dream. Contrast, Garnet is far too shy to appear in front of people. But since Ruby persuades her as usual, they finally ask her father to ride to the audition. However, this wants to know anything, and so the kids go there secretly.
During casting Ruby makes a good impression on the judges. Garnet, however, is perfect for making any sound. Her father followed them to the audition and bring them back down. In Leaving Ruby hear the decision of the judges: it was good, but not her sister. Ruby is so mad at Garnet.
After the twins have reconciled, they are assigned a new idea. The film for which they have auditioned, playing in a boarding school. And this time it's Garnet which is particularly fond of this idea. The school has even awarded a scholarship. After the two girls have done an aptitude test, Garnet will be accepted at the school. But that would mean that the twins have to separate.
Now Ruby is certainly mad at her sister and wants nothing more to do with her. From then on she dresses differently than her sister. But the girls finally speak off. Although they are different, but they remain forever twins. And so goes Garnet to boarding school while Ruby will soon attend a drama course.
Analysis
The coming-of- age film set in a very early age for this genre, else can you find such elements rather increased in youth film. The fact that the protagonists are twins, a special development also is shown.
When twins are already in earlier years developed the desire for individuality and a resulting detection as well as identification and deferred. By the young age of the protagonists of the subject of personal development for young children is understandable, so that they can deal at an early stage and so they are prepared for their own development.
