Double Falcon

Double Hawk was a prädynastischer ruler of 0 Dynasty, which ruled to about 3200 BC. Information about its exact chronological position or duration of his reign are currently not possible.

Double Falcon is mainly in the Nile Delta region of Lower Egypt detectable, which suggests that his kingdom was limited to those. A single document comes from Abydos. The findings that bear his name, are predominantly clay and stone vessels and come from El- Beda, Tura, El- Mehemdia and the north-western region of the Sinai.

Name and identity

Double Falkes royal Serech is unique in its presentation, because he is crowned by two Horus falcon. The Hawks look here at each other. Striking is the fact that the " ceiling beams " of Serech caved sharp and does not have the usual horizontal line. Each of the falcon sits on its own tip. MJ Cledat, Günter Dreyer and Edwin van den Brink suspect behind a deeper symbolism. The two hawks could Lower Egypt and the Sinai think there seems to have ruled double hawk in the latter.

Dreyer sees itself reminds N26 (two peaks ) in the presentation of " buckled Serechs " at Gardiner character and reads the name as " Dju -Hor " ( "Mountain of Horus "). Van den Brink, however, reads the name as " Hor - Nebui " and refers to a ceremonial palette in the Barbier- Mueller Museum of Geneva, on a standard with the two hawks can be seen on it.
