Double Six Monument

With Double Six Monument ( Malaysian Tugu Peringatan Double Six ) is a monument in Kota Kinabalu is referred to in the Malaysian state of Sabah, which is reminiscent of the plane crash on 6 June 1976 with the leading politicians and members of the government of the state were killed.

The light coming from Labuan Sabah Air aircraft crashed during landing from the Kota Kinabalu International Airport in the suburb Sembulan. In the crash, all occupants of the aircraft were killed, including Tun Fuad Stephens, the then Chief Minister of Sabah. The Double Six name derives from the day and the month of the accident date and has impressed in Malaysia under the name Double Six Tragedy in the collective memory.

The location of the crash is with the Double Six Monument ( Tugu Mal. Peringatan Double Six ), a memorial in the form of a stone obelisk marks, which was built shortly after the accident. The memorial is located in the district Sembulan within the Grace Garden building complex in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah at Jalan Pantai Sembulan.

A location for Grace Garden at the entrance to the exhibition hall shows pictures of the accident and biographical notes on the unfortunate occupants of the aircraft.
