Doug Dailey

Douglas " Doug " Dailey ( born April 1, 1944 in Orrell Park, Liverpool ) is a former English racing cyclist, coach and current cycling official.

Athletes, coaches and managers

Doug Dailey was active as an amateur bicycle racer from the early 1960s to the late 1970s; he went almost exclusively racing in the UK. Twice, in 1972 and 1976, he was British champion in the road race in the amateurs. Three times he won the Mersey Two Days, twice the Tour of Ireland and twice the Soens Eddie | Eddie Soens Memorial.

From 1986 to 1996 Dailey was a British coach, then he took over the activities of a logistics manager in the British Cycling Federation. As such, he prepared the operations of the British team at the Commonwealth Games and Olympic Games.

Honors

Twice, in 1969 and 1984, Douglas Dailey was awarded " Golden Merseyside Cycle Award". 2008 received the Medal Member of the Order of the British Empire was given and he was inducted into the British Cycling Hall of Fame in 2009.
