Douglas Smith (actor)

Douglas Alexander Smith ( born June 22, 1985 in Toronto, Ontario) is a Canadian-American actor.

Life and career

Smith was born in Toronto, Canada, as the son of Terrea (born Easter ), an American teacher, and Maurice Smith, a British film producer. His mother appeared frequently in films that had produced his father in the 1980s. His eldest brother Gregory Smith is also an actor. He has, among other things German ancestors. Smith is a vegetarian. He is a member of the band Alaskan Summer, in which his girlfriend Ashton Lunceford permitting.

He played the role of Ben Henrickson in the HBO television series Big Love, among others. In 2003, he played a major role in the Australian series Out There. In addition to his recurring role in Big Love, Smith played in various films and series. In 2012 he stood as Edward Porris in Brandon Cronenberg 's sci-fi thriller Antiviral front of the camera, he was promoting, together with the son of David Cronenberg Brandon and Malcolm McDowell at the International Film Festival of Cannes.
