Dover is located on the Cumberland River in Stewart County, a city of the U.S. state of Tennessee, about 108 km west- northwest of Nashville. In 2000 the town had 1442 inhabitants. Dover is the county seat of Stewart County and part of the Clarksville Metropolitan Area.

History
