Draft document

A notebook ( occupied since the 17th century in the Low German, actual meaning, dirt ',' smearing ') is a preliminary draft, a concept, and derived from it, probably as a short form of " blotter ⸗ book", a lubricant, sketches, note or temporary business book ( pre-book ). High linguistically equivalent is the French loanword Brouillon.

Notebooks are firmly linked in the rule and contain up as either empty ( blind ) pages or those that are prepared with lines or tables for entries. (Also called Strazzen ) The contents of notebooks to keep records is then transferred to primary and secondary books.

At North German schools is the " blotter " distinguished from the " fair copy book ." In central and southern Germany one speaks of manuscript or concept.
