Dremelspitze

Dremelspitze from north

The Dremelspitze is a 2733 meter high mountain in the Parzinngruppe the Lech Valley Alps in the Austrian state of Tyrol. The Dremelspitze has through its 400 meter high rock walls of Hauptdolomit a large geographical dominance, which makes them a popular vantage point for tours of the nearby huts. The first ascent of the mountain succeeded the Austrian mountaineers and geologists Ampferer Otto and Wilhelm Hammer by the Academic Alpine Club Innsbruck in 1896.

Location

The tip is located about six kilometers in a straight line to the northwest of Starkenbach at Schönwies. Adjacent peaks are the Great Schlenker tip ( also Big Dangling called ) in the northeast with 2827 meters of altitude, in the east, separated by the rear Dremelscharte ( 2470 m), the Hanauer peak with 2553 meters, in the south-east, separated by the Hidden Gratscharte ( 2520 m ) of mine head ( 2728 m) and to the west, separated by the Front Dremelscharte ( 2434 m), the snow Karlesspitze with 2641 meters of altitude. To the south lies below the Dremelspitze to 2222 meters above sea level Steinsee.

Bases and tours

Southwest of the Dremelspitze lies 2061 meters above sea level the Steinseehütte. To the north, the Hanauer cottage is (1922 m). Both huts from the mountain can be walked in about two and a half to three hours. From the hut Hanauer direction leads the way in a south-westerly from the Steinseehütte in a northeasterly to the center front (western) Dremelscharte ( 2434 m) up. Here the climbing route begins, first of all debris and crumbling Schrofen through the southern flank ( rockfall ), then solid rock to the summit. The route is marked, but secured at any point, and provides, according to the literature, in places moderately difficult climb in difficulty UIAA II
