Dresdner Straße (Vienna U-Bahn)

The Dresdner Straße station is an underground metro station of the Vienna U -Bahn line U6 in Vienna's 20th district Brigittenau. It was opened following the opening of the second portion of the U6 spittelau Floridsdorf on May 4, 1996. It is named after the 1875, named after the Saxon capital Dresden Street.

The station is located in two low position directly under the Hellwagstraße. Outputs through small reception building on the Hellwagstraße and the Pasettistraße. It has a central platform, escalators and elevators, and is thus to achieve barrier-free. The streets around the outputs are designed as pedestrian zones and traffic calming.

The underground station is crossed by the Meldemannstraße where the homeless shelter men dorm Meldemannstraße was 1905-2003, which became famous because of the 1910-1913 live here young Adolf Hitler. In 2003 it was closed and renovated. Then began the conversion for a retirement home named " Seniorenschlössl Brigittenau ", which opened in 2009.

It is possible to tram line 2 in the direction of Friedrich- Engels-Platz or in the direction Ottakringerstraße / Erdbrustgasse and bus routes 5A towards Nestroyplatz and 37A switch over towards Dänenstraße.
