Dries Van Noten

Dries Van Noten ( born May 12, 1958 in Antwerp) is a Belgian fashion designer. The fashion company founded by him in 1986 bears his name.

Life

Van Noten was born into a family of tailors; his father was a Haberdasher, his grandfather Schneider. Van Noten studied from 1976 at the Royal University of Fine Arts ( Flemish: Koninklijke Academie voor Schone Kunsten ) in Antwerp, where in 1980 he graduated. After he was working freelance for other companies, he in 1986, along with five other Belgian colleagues ("The Antwerp Six " ), his first menswear collection in London under his own name successfully before.
