Duane Jones

Duane L. Jones ( born February 2, 1936 in New York, New York, † July 22, 1988 in Mineola, Long Iceland, New York ) was an American actor. He was known for his role in the horror film Ben Night of the Living Dead (1968 ) by George A. Romero.

He was the first African-American protagonist in a horror movie that was not selected because of his skin color.

In addition to his work as a film actor, he was mainly active in various universities and theaters in the U.S. as an English professor and artistic director.
