Dubréka Prefecture

Dubréka is a prefecture in the region Kindia in Guinea with about 131,000 inhabitants. Like all Guinean Prefectures it is after its capital, Dubréka named.

Geography

The prefecture is located in the west of the country on the Atlantic coast, has mangrove swamps and covers an area of 5,676 km ². Previously, it belonged to the Prefecture Coyah.

On the territory of modern prefecture was before and during colonial times the Kingdom Kapitaï of Baga. Khabitaye is now a national park with 4,900 acres, Kapitaïs former capital Yatiya belongs to the sub-prefecture Khorira.
