Duchy of Montpensier

The French rule Montpensier ( named after the place Montpensier in the Puy -de- Dôme) was the late 12th century through marriage from the possession of the Lords of Thiern in the possession of the Lords of Beaujeu, and they in turn by marriage to the house of France Dreux - inherited.
