Duke Clement Francis of Bavaria

Klemens Franz de Paula, Prince of Bavaria ( born April 19, in 1722 in Munich, † August 6, 1770 ibid ) was the son of the Imperial Field Marshal Ferdinand Maria of Bavaria Innocent and thus a grandson of the Bavarian Elector Maximilian II Emanuel.

On January 17, 1742, he married in Mannheim Maria Anna of Pfalz- Sulzbach, a daughter of Joseph Karl von Pfalz- Sulzbach and granddaughter of the Elector Palatine Karl III. Philip. Between 1748 and 1756 the couple a son and three daughters were born, all of whom died in childhood. Survivors had sons from his marriage in 1777 after the death of Maximilian III. Joseph the Bavarian Electorate inherited. Thus was Klemens Franz for 25 years ( 1745-1770 ), de facto Crown Prince of Bavaria.

His heart was buried separately and is like that of his wife in the chapel Altöttings.
