Ferdinand Maria Innocenz of Bavaria

Ferdinand Maria Innocent Joseph Michael of Bavaria ( * August 5, 1699 in Brussels, † December 9, 1738 in Munich) was a Bavarian prince and imperial field marshal.

Life

Ferdinand Maria Innocent was a son of the Elector Maximilian II Emanuel of Bavaria (1662-1726) from his marriage to Therese Cunegonde (1676-1730), daughter of the Polish king John III. Sobieski.

In imperial service was Ferdinand Maria Innocent 1738 Imperial Field Marshal and Reich General Feldzeugmeister. His tomb is located in the Theatinerkirche.

Marriage and issue

Ferdinand Maria Innocent married on February 5, 1719 in Empire City Anna Maria ( 1693-1751 ), daughter of the Count Palatine Philipp Wilhelm August von Neuburg, with whom he had the following children:

  • Maximilian Franz Joseph (1720-1738)
  • Klemens Franz de Paula (1722-1770)
  • Therese Emanuele (1723-1743)

From the connection with Countess Marie Adelheid Fortunata Spaur (1694-1781), sister of the later Bavarian court bishop Joseph Ferdinand Guidobald of Spaur, Ferdinand Maria had another son born out of wedlock:

  • Joseph Ferdinand (1718-1805), Count of Salern
