Dumbier (right)

The Dumbier ( German rarely Djumbier, Hungarian Gyömbér ) is 2043.4 meters, the highest elevation in the Low Tatras.

Under the summit of Dumbier the Milan Rastislav Stefanik - shelter is located ( slovak: Chata Milana Rastislava štefánika ) to 1727.9 meters. This shelter was erected in memory of the battles between the Slovak partisans and German troops associations at the end of the Second World War.

The Dumbier is part of the Slovakian National Park Low Tatras. He is also its name to the Western, Ďumbierske Tatry said part of the Low Tatras.

Accessibility

The Dumbier can be reached only on foot. Exist from the north trails of the ski resort Jasna in the municipality of Dolina Demänovska and by the community Liptovsky Jan in the next valley. From the south of the summit of the bus stations Trangoška and Srdiečko be reached.

In the east-west direction over the Dumbier the European long-distance hiking trail runs E8, regionally also called Gedenkweg at the Slovak National Uprising.
