Duncan Ferguson

Ferguson (1994)

Duncan Ferguson (* December 27 1971 in Stirling ) is a former Scottish footballer.

Career

Ferguson's youth club was Carse Thistle in his native Scotland. In 1990 he moved to the first team of Dundee United. He completed 77 league games in which he hit 28 times for Dundee United. 1993/1994 of the striker at the Glasgow Rangers was under contract, for which he scored 2 goals in 14 league games. From 1994 to 1998, the FC Everton was his first station in the English Premier League ( 116 games, 37 goals ). 1999/2000 Ferguson played for one year ( 30 games, 8 goals) at Newcastle United, before he returned to Everton. For Everton, he then completed a further 116 league games and scored 24 goals before his contract expired there at end of season 2005/2006 and he finished his career. Today Ferguson lives in Mallorca.

Ferguson played seven times in Scottish football national team before he announced his retirement from international football in 1997/ 1998.

In 1994, he was the first European soccer player for a foul jail. During a game against Raith Rovers he gave the opponent John McStay a head butt and had it 44 days in jail.
