Duncan Oughton

Duncan Oughton ( born June 14, 1977 in Wellington ) is a New Zealand soccer player who plays for the U.S. Columbus Crew and the New Zealand national football team.

Career

In his youth Oughton played for the University of Otago from 1997 to 2000, he was active for the California State University Fullerton and shot 17 goals. He was drafted tenth of Columbus Crew in 2001 and played in his first season as a professional 20 times, including 12 times from the beginning. The 2005 season, he could not attend because of a knee injury and was the end of the year just before the off, but he fought back and is now one of the most important players of Columbus Crew.

Since January 2011, Oughton is without a club.

For the national team of his country Oughton played since 2002 21 times, scoring two goals. In 2002, he won the OFC Nations Cup in the final against Australia.
