Dungeon crawl

A dungeon ( in the German language most of the dungeon, for " dungeon ", " dungeon " in English ) is in rolls and computer games, an underground room and hallways system. Players explore the often irrgartenartig nested dungeon, there to recover useful or relevant for the action items and fight monsters lurking there.

Shaping

As already indicated in the naming, dungeons usually develop a creepy atmosphere, often they are designed as catacombs and developed cave systems, sometimes called subterranean mazes, which were intentionally created as a hiding place for treasures and as a place for monsters.

Sometimes the term dungeon notwithstanding extended from the actual meaning of the word on buildings and other aboveground locations if they serve the same purpose of playing technique.

Variants

In some MMORPG there is a special of the dungeon, called the instance of the form. Conceptually and structurally, these are for normal dungeons according to the above definition. For various reasons (such as gaming or performance considerations ) but this dungeon is for each group that enters it created as a copy. So this may be independent of other groups fight monsters, solve quests and collect treasures.

Reverse Dungeon is a scenario in which the player rather than the role of the monster takes over the hero. The computer game Dungeon Keeper is an example of a reverse dungeon, although it caricatured stereotypes of role-playing.

True Dungeon or Real Dungeon is called a life-sized replica of dungeons in the LARP scene.
