Dunois Master

The so-called masters of Dunois (or Dunois Master ) was a acting in Paris from about 1430 French book painters. As its name remains unknown, it is called illustrated with a Notnamen after him for the Count Jean d' Orléans, comte de Dunois Hours.

Art style

The Master of Dunoi is a representative of the realistic style section of Gothic manuscript illumination in France. He emerged from the workshop of the Bedford Master in Paris. He took their style and developed it further influenced by the work of the Limbourg Brothers as the Très Riches Heures miniatures. Also, the master is influenced by works of the Dutch painter Jan van Eyck, such as the Madonna of Rolin.
