Duple Dominant

The name Duple Dominant referred to the British manufacturer Duple Coachbuilders a bus structure. The structures were manufactured from 1972 to 1982.

The structure was a steel construction. In the first version, which was later referred to as Dominant I had the front and rear the same height as the side windows. When produced from 1976 specification Dominant II, the windscreen was higher, and the rear window flat. In addition, rectangular headlights were used. In the embodiments Dominant III, the side window had the shape of a parallelogram, with the version Dominant IV they were back rectangular. The duple gold liner was a high- roof version of the Dominant III or IV, together with the Panorama Elite and the Supreme Company Plaxton they were the ubiquitous bus models in Britain in the 1970s. Some buses with dominant structure are currently still in public transport on the island of Malta in use.

The construction came to the chassis of British and foreign companies for use:

Duple Dominant, Bristol LHS chassis

Duple Dominant IV, Leyland Tiger chassis TRCTL11/3R, 1982
