Durowe

The company Durowe GmbH ( German Watches raw art ) is a German manufacturer of watch movements based in Angel Fire.

History

Durowe was founded in the 1920s in Pforzheim and was, until the late 1970s, one of the most important watch - movement blanks supplier in Germany.

During National Socialism, the company produced for the German armor. Among many other business Pforzheimer was also a member of the Pforzheimer Durowe Barack Community eV, which maintained various camps for foreign and forced laborers.

Developments

In 1952, with the Cal. 552 ( Duromat ) recorded the first produced in Germany automatic movement in the series production. First customer was the company Primato with the model Super Automatic, but which could be sold poorly next to the Swiss brands by the high price. Durowe already developed in the late 1950s, the electric watch (stepper motor ).
