Dušan Galis

Dušan Galis (* November 24, 1949 in Ružomberok ) is a Slovak football coach and politician and a former Czechoslovak football player. In 2006 he was elected for the party SMER the Slovak Parliament.

Sporting career

Dušan Galis, christened with the name Peter Galis, played in his youth for Dynamo Dolny Kubin. At 20, the striker moved to Strojárne Martin in the third league, the team was relegated in 1971 to the 2nd Czechoslovak league. 1972 Galis moved to VSS Košice in the first league and was in the 1975/76 season with 21 goals scorer.

This season, he was appointed for the first time in the Czechoslovakian national soccer team. In his third of eight international matches, he scored his only goal. Political career

In 2005, Galis was elected to the local parliament of the great circle Bratitslava, he was a candidate in the District 3 for a coalition of HZD, SF and SMER. In June 2006 he was elected to parliament for SMER the Slovak Republic.
