Dušan Podpečan

Dušan Podpečan ( born October 12, 1975 in Celje ) is a Slovenian former handball player. Its body length is 1.96 m.

Podpečan, who last played for the Slovenian club Koper and RK aground for the Slovenian national team, was handball goalkeeper.

Dušan Podpečan began with the handball game at the serial champions RK Celje in his hometown. He debuted in the 1995/96 season in the first team and won in 1996, 1997, 1998 and 2000 league and cup. But since he usually only got little playing time behind Dejan Peric, he moved in 2000 to Velika Nedelja. From there, he moved in 2002 to RK Mobitel Prule 67 Ljubljana and 2004 continue to RK Gorenje Velenje. With all the clubs but he remains largely unsuccessful as he never got past his old club Celje. Just in 2006 but reported this association in Podpečan again and engaged him as a successor to the BM Valladolid migrated Gregor Lorger. With Celje he won again in 2007 league and cup, but this time was behind Gorazd Skof second choice, so he joined the Swiss Schaffhausen cadets in summer 2007. In 2009 he returned to Slovenia to RK Koper back, won the 2011 league and cup and finished his career there in 2013.

Dušan Podpečan has played 100 international matches for the Slovenian national team. With Slovenia, he moved in the European Handball Championship 2004 in their own country to the final, but it lost to the German team. In the same year he took part in the 2004 Olympic Games. In the Men's Handball World Championship for Men in Germany in 2007, he was only in the extended squad of his country.
