Dusheti

Dusheti (Georgian დუშეთი dʊʃɛt, ʰ ɪ ) is a Georgian town in the region of Mtskheta - Mtianeti. Dusheti is a town of the district of the same name. The city is located 33 km north of Mtskheta on both sides of the river Duschetischewi. The town has 4,600 inhabitants ( 2002). It exists since 1215th In the 17th century Dusheti was a residence of the feudal lord Aragwis eristavis. 1801 got the Dusheti a status of the city. In 1802 it became the center of the " Dusheti Masra " (Region Dusheti ).
