Geography

The district is situated on a south- north slope of the Lahn Valley and is one of the Hüttenberger country. Dutenhofen extends above the Lahn on a plateau, which it shares with the neighboring Münchholzhausen. On the eastern outskirts of Welschbach flows.

History

Already 769 ( Dudari ) and 770 ( Duda marca ) is mentioned in Lahngau in deeds of gift to the Lorsch Abbey such a place-name. However, these are not unique to Dutenhofen. As Dodenhoven the place is then clearly mentioned in 1150 in a document of the monastery Schiffenberg.

1333 was the western half of the former county Gleiberg with Dutenhofen to the Counts of Nassau -Weilburg. With the annexation of the Duchy of Nassau by Prussia in 1866 Dutenhofen came to Prussia.

Dutenhofen was a separate municipality until 1976. This was incorporated on 1 January 1977 in the newly formed city of Lahn. After its dissolution Dutenhofen was on 1 August 1979 at a Wetzlar district.

Sport and Leisure

Dutenhofen is the home of handball club HSG Dutenhofen - Münchholzhausen from which the Bundesliga club HSG Wetzlar emerged.

There are also a number of other sports clubs, which deals in popular sports cover (for example, tennis club TC Dutenhofen and football club SC 07 Münchholzhausen - Dutenhofen ). In Dutenhofen district there is also a lake with camping.

Economy and infrastructure

Traffic

The village can be reached via the motorway at junction 45 Wetzlar -Süd. In place of the L 3285 towards Lahnau- Dorlar Coming leads to the L 3451 ( Wetzlar - casting ). In addition, the K 355 branches off to Münchholzhausen. The plan is further its own connection point on the four-lane federal highway 49, which passes north of Dutenhofen.
