Dvbbs

The Dvbbs ( original spelling Dubbs ) are a Canadian electronic duo, consisting of brothers Christopher (* 1990) and Alex Andre van den Hoef (* 1991) is.

Career

The two brothers from Orangeville, Ontario making music together since their youth. They began with punk and reggae, before they turned to electronic music. As a teenager she worked with famous producers and took an album and demos that made ​​it to the radio. Together with the experienced DJ and producer Martin Sinotte aka Beat Chemist from Ottawa, they ceded in 2009 under the name Dubbs, with Alex van den Hoef as a singer and his brother Chris on drums, and were tour and show accompanied by artists such as Steve Aoki and LMFAO. In 2010 she won a music competition of the station MuchMusic and released the EP Generation Party.

After the separation of Sinotte the brothers made in 2012 as a duo on and took the name Dvbbs EP Initio and published it on the single Drvgs. Appearances with Deadmau5 and Calvin Harris followed. In the Canadian Urban Music Awards they were awarded the Newcomer Award.

Her international breakthrough came had Dvbbs entitled Tsunami, they recorded together with the American DJ John Borger aka Borgeous with the participation of Niles Hollowell - Dhar. The song was a festival hit in the summer of 2013, and was released by the label of the Dutchman Sander van Doorn. In the Netherlands, the tsunami was also the first to hit, reaching number one in the beginning of October Nederlandse Top 40 and a little later also number one in the Dutch-speaking part of Belgium.

In collaboration with British rapper Tinie Tempah they recorded a vocal version of their tracks tsunami. The remix was released on 9 March 2014. Already one week after the release of the title was number one in the UK singles chart. For the U.S. release of the song they obtained the American rapper Tyga in the studio. A release date has yet to be announced. On the Internet, the vocal version already exists.
