The Dwangwa is a 150 kilometer long river, which drains the area of the Kasungu National Park in the central highlands of Malawi and flows into Lake Malawi after the sugar cane -growing region Dwanga estate, a vast alluvial Dwangwa.
The rivers Bua, Dwangwa, Lilongwe, Lufira, Northern Rukuru, Songwe, Southern Rukuru together according to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO ) is a fishing potential of 15,000 tons annually. In fact caught 4000-17000 tons.
