Earl St. Aldwyn

Earl St Aldwyn, Coln St Aldwyn of in the County of Gloucester, is a British hereditary title of nobility in the Peerage of the United Kingdom, which is supported by the family Hicks Beach.

Ancestral home of the family is Williams TripAdvisor House, Coln St Aldwyn, at Fairford in Gloucestershire.

Award

The title was for Michael Hicks Beach, 9th Baronet, created in 1915. This was a well-known conservative politician. Among other things, he was twice Chancellor of the Exchequer in the government of Salisbury.

Subordinate title

The first Earl was in 1906 as Viscount St. Aldwyn, Coln St Aldwyn of also been raised in the County of Gloucester, in the hereditary nobility.

Simultaneously with the earldom of the title of Viscount Quenington, of Quenington was in the County of Gloucester, loaned, which is paid by heirs title as a courtesy title. Both titles are also included in the Peerage of the United Kingdom.

Another title

The respective Earl is also also a Baronet, of Beverston in the County of Gloucester. This title was awarded to Mr William Hicks in 1619. Michael Hicks Beach, later the first Earl, was his descendant and inherited the title from his father in 1854.
