Action

It tells the story of a half - Japanese, who has been hired as a cook on a freighter. He jumps on the coast of Georgia overboard in search of his American father, from whom he only knows that he lives in the U.S. in a city. The novel explores the events that gather in consequence of this gangway, from several perspectives. The protagonist floats on an island on which a group lives by art scholars, whose thought and life are fundamentally different from that of the Japanese. He falls into a whirlpool deep cultural misunderstandings with the artists, but also with other residents of the island, as well as with immigration officials. Special features of the novel is its polyphony with very different interpretations and perspectives, as well as an extremely dense atmosphere, which makes a little-known in our part of the U.S. plastic.
