Eastern Illinois University

The Eastern Illinois University (EIU ) is a state university in Charleston in the U.S. state of Illinois. The college was founded in 1895 as the Eastern Illinois State Normal School. Currently, 11,651 students are enrolled.

The sports teams of the EIU, the Panthers. The university is a member of the Ohio Valley Conference, the football team plays in the Missouri Valley Conference and the swimmers taking part in the Mid-Continent Conference.
