EasyTAG

EasyTAG is a free program to add and edit metadata for audio files under GNU / Linux, Windows and Mac OS X. The program is an optional part of many Linux distributions.

For the graphical user interface uses GTK uses. For the ID3 functionality id3lib is used; to support next ID3v2.3 ID3v2.4 also, is since the development version 2.1.1 ( July 4, 2007 ) is also used libid3tag.

EasyTAG supported:

• ID3 tags in MP3, MP2, FLAC, and AAC files
• Vorbis comments in FLAC and Ogg Vorbis files
• APE tags in Musepack, Monkey's Audio and WavPack files.
• CDDB support

Depending on the file format used while track titles, artist, album, photo can (eg album art ), release year, track number, genre of music, Composer, Original Artist (as with remixes and new settings ), Copyright, Website, compression program used and additional comment individually or selected in several files are processed. In addition EasyTAG can fill in these fields automatically presets and created input forms and automatically rename files based on their metadata or external text files. In addition, it can display information such as track length and bit rate, and use external metadata sources such as the freedb.

The user interface allows you to browse through similar files in a tree structure to a file manager and view files specifically selected by artist and album, and provides for changes to the metadata beyond an undo function. Furthermore, with the help of EasyTAG playlists can be created.
