The black and white silent film leads to a length of 39 minutes the U.S. Pop Art artist Robert Indiana in front by feeding on a mushroom. Meanwhile, sitting in his cat on his shoulder. According to Indiana the recordings took place on February 2.

Background

The friend of Warhol painter Indiana put together with this since the end of 1962 at the Stable Gallery by Eleanor Ward from. The film was inspired by the fact that Indiana the night before the movie Tom Jones - had looked at Bed to the gallows by Tony Richardson with his orgiastic dining scenes on television. As practiced by Warhol in his earliest films ( eg sleep) sometimes, the movie plot is not identical to the actual act, but consists of a rhythmic montage of several of the nine 3 -minute film roles. However, this is only noticeable when embarking on the imagery and the film is not considered from the outset as boring and pointless. So it is less about the depicted scene and more about uncovering cinematic illusion of illustrated action and the questioning of expectations, " movie", the viewer of the medium.

Indiana took the theme of " food" on again when he created a flashing electric "Eat " sculpture for the World Exhibition in New York in the spring of 1964.
