Eberhard Burger

Eberhard Burger, OBE ( born July 26, 1943 in Berlin ) was the Director of Construction for the reconstruction of the Frauenkirche in Dresden from 1996 to 2005 and since 2001 CEO of Dresden Frauenkirche Foundation.

Life

Eberhard Burger was born on 26 July 1943 as the fourth child of this MBA Rudolf Burger and his wife Edith in Berlin. In 1948, he started school in Halle, 1961, he passed his Abitur in Riesa.

Burger had applied at the Technical University of Dresden for a place at the Faculty of Civil Engineering for the Department of Structural Engineering. The required " Practical preliminary study year," he graduated from the petroleum processing plant in Schwedt on the Oder. In this preliminary study year he qualified as a concrete skilled workers. In 1962, he began full-time study at the TU Dresden.

In 1965 he married. In the same year a daughter was born in 1968 a son. In 1968, Burger closes his studies as a graduate engineer and goes into practice. Honors

On 10 February 2006, Eberhard Burger, has received an honorary doctorate from the Technical University of Dresden. He received the Doctor of Engineering honor (Dr. -Ing. Eh) " in recognition of his outstanding achievements in the repair and reconstruction of church buildings, especially in the reconstruction of the Frauenkirche Dresden, and in recognition of his support of research projects at the Technical University of Dresden ". Since 31 March 2006, he is an honorary citizen of the city of Dresden. Honored him in 2006 the Association of German surveyors with the Golden Lot.
