Echinopsis terscheckii is a species of the genus Echinopsis in the cactus family ( Cactaceae ). The specific epithet honors terscheckii the court gardener Carl Adolph Terscheck from the garden of the Japanese Palace in Dresden.

Description

Echinopsis terscheckii grows tree-like, branched at the age rich like candelabra with several erect branches and reaches stature heights of 10 to 12 meters. The first description as Cereus terscheckii by Ludwig Georg Karl Pfeiffer was published in 1837. Heimo Frederick and Gordon Douglas Rowley set the style in 1974 in the genus Echinopsis.

Further nomenclatural synonyms are Pilocereus terscheckii ( J.Parm. Pfeiff ex. ) Rümpler (1885 ) and Trichocereus terscheckii ( J.Parm. Pfeiff ex. ) Britton & Rose (1920). In addition, the following taxa were included as a synonym in the way: Trichocereus werdermannianus Backeb.
