Ecuadorian Football Federation

The Federación de Fútbol Ecuatoriana (short: FEF ), located in Guayaquil is the CONMEBOL belonging football association in the country of Ecuador. He 1925 as Federación Deportiva Nacional del Ecuador was founded.

The Federación de Fútbol Ecuatoriana is responsible for organizing the national league competitions and the national team that participates in tournaments CONMEBOL responsible.

History

In 1925 the provinces of Guayas and Pichincha began to organize an amateur champion football championship. On 30 May 1925, the Federación Deportiva Nacional del Ecuador was founded, which is better known by its acronym Fedenador. In 1926 the Comité Olímpico Ecuatoriano ( Ecuadorian Olympic Committee ) organized a national Olympic Games in the city of Riobamba, in football as a discipline on the program and for the first time teams from the provinces were formed. The crew of the host province, Chimborazo, won the tournament undefeated.

Also in 1926, Ecuador joined the World Football Federation Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) and 1927 the South American Football Association Confederación Sudamericana de Fútbol ( CONMEBOL ). In 1940 National Amateur Championships were first held that took place until 1949.

In the 1950s, the provinces of Guayas and Pichincha professionalized their championships: 1951 aimed Guayas Province, the first professional championship of Pichincha and took over the 1953 1957 was organized a national club championship in Ecuador and Pichincha Guyas and ended their independent professional championships.. A national club championship was not held in 1958 and 1959, but is held annually since 1960. On June 30, 1967, the Asociación Ecuatoriana de Fútbol was founded and finally on 26 May 1978, the statutes and the name of the association changed in Federación Ecuatoriana de Fútbol.
