Ecuadorian general election, 2013

The presidential election in Ecuador in 2013 and the general election in Ecuador took place on February 17. Around 11.6 million eligible voters were required to choose the next president and the vice president and the parliament. A potential second round of voting in the presidential election on April 7 was not necessary, since already in the first round, a candidate has achieved an absolute majority.

Candidates

When choosing eight candidates have lined up. The re-election of the incumbent head of state Rafael Correa and his party Movimiento País was already beginning to be very likely. Other candidates are Guillermo Lasso ( Creando Oportunidades ), Lucio Gutiérrez ( Partido Sociedad Patriótica ), Alberto Acosta ( Pachakutik ), Norman Wray ( Ruptura 25), Nelson Zavala ( Partido Roldosista Ecuatoriano ), Mauricio Rodas ( SUMA ) and Álvaro Noboa ( Partido Renovador Institucional Acción Nacional).
