Ed Stafford

Ed Stafford ( born December 26, 1975, Peterborough ) is the first person who has gone the whole Amazon from its source to its mouth on foot. The Amazon is having a length of about 6500 km the second longest river in the world. The track is barely tapped on large parts. Ed Stafford put detours around 9500 km on his trek back.

For the expedition, he took 859 days. He started on 2nd April 2008, and reached the mouth on 9 August 2010.
