Edi Federer

Eduard " Edi" Federer ( born February 20, 1955 in Mühlbach, Salzburg, † 30 May, 2012 Pfarrwerfen ) was an Austrian ski jumper and sports manager.

Career

Federer began his career at FIS Jumping on January 3, 1971 in Innsbruck. He finished the race on the Bergiselschanze on the 73rd place. After he jumped in Bischofshofen on January 6 of that year ranked only 64, he took an international break of three years and only came back to the Four Hills Tournament 1974.

In the Four Hills Tournament 1974/75 it reached 874 points 2nd place in the overall standings. It was his only major success. He could jump with a second place in the competition on January 3, 1975 in Innsbruck for the first time and also for the only time in his career in an individual competition on the podium.

After his playing career, he founded a sports management company, and from 1992 until his resignation from the Ski Jumping 2005, the Manager of Andreas Goldberger. Subsequently, he served as Manager, the Polish ski jumping team and was the personal manager of Adam Malysz and Thomas Morgenstern, before he retired in 2010 due to the nerve disease ALS, where he died on 30 May 2012.
